Kevin Turner has been a Urology specialist for more than 20 years and has worked as a consultant Urologist in Bournemouth since 2007. He trained at some of the premier urology units in the world (Oxford, Edinburgh, and Melbourne) and he has continued to develop his interests and expertise as a consultant. His passion is to blend first class contemporary knowledge with an empathetic jargon-free communication style, and to offer state-of-the art surgical techniques.

Mr Turner is co-editor of the Oxford Handbook of Urological Surgery (second edition published May 2020) as well as authoring numerous research papers and book chapters.

Mr Turner is an examiner for the FRCS Urology examination – the final examination taken by urologists before they can apply for a consultant post. Mr Turner co-leads a research team at Bournemouth University where he is a Visiting Professor.

Mr Turner was trained in laparoscopic (keyhole) radical prostatectomy by Professor Jens-Uwe Stolzenberg in Leipzig. Professor Stolzenburg is widely regarded as one of the leading laparoscopic urological surgeons in the world.

In 2013, Mr Turner led the acquisition of a da Vinci robot by Royal Bournemouth Hospital - the only surgical robot in Dorset. He was trained in robotic radical prostatectomy by Professor Stolzenburg, and by Professor Alex Haese from the Martini Clinic in Hamburg. The Martini Clinic is the busiest radical prostatectomy centre in the world, performing more than 2000 radical prostatectomies a year.
