About
Kate Heathcote is a highly experienced Ear Nose and Throat consultant at University Hospitals Dorset where she manages patients with a full range of routine and emergency ENT conditions.
Having completed her ENT training in the Wessex region she pursued a fellowship in laryngology, otology and lateral skull base surgery in Rouen, France. A further fellowship in Laryngology at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital in London gave her the experience to establish The Centre for Airway, Voice and Swallow at Poole Hospital in 2012.
She has gone on to develop an Internationally acclaimed service receiving patients from around The World as well as travelling herself to mentor and guide surgeons in complex cases in their hospitals, in particular laryngeal reinnervation for the treatment of vocal fold paralysis in adults and children.
Kate is one of a small number of doctors in the UK who are highly skilled in performing procedures under local anaesthetic in the office for voice, airway a swallow disorders.
